After Colin Farrell’s explosive debut performance in The Batman as Oswald “Oz” Cobblepot also known as the Penguin, DC Comics & HBO Max have wasted no time in confirming the next project set within Matt ReevesThe Batman universe. With a working title of “The Penguin” the newly announced HBO Max series will star Colin Farrell in the lead role, with Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell & Lauren DeFranc serving as executive producers for the show.

Director of The Batman, Matt Reeves, had these exciting words to share about the Penguin’s new HBO show:

"Colin exploded off the screen as the Penguin in 'The Batman,' and having the chance to thoroughly explore the inner life of that character on HBO Max is an absolute thrill. Dylan and I are so excited to work with Lauren in continuing Oz’s story as he grabs violently for power in Gotham.”

With a huge power vacuum left after the events of The Batman, Oz is set to take hold of the criminal underworld within Gotham City and work his way to the very top. It is unclear if the show will feature any appearances from Robert Pattinson’s Batman, Zoë Kravitz’s Catwoman or Jeffrey Wright’s Jim Gordon, but what we do know is that Colin Farrell, Matt Reeves and their Batman team will certainly deliver more Gotham goodness with the Penguin series.
