The highly anticipated next addition to Rocksteady StudiosArkham-Verse line of video games, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, has been officially delayed and will now be releasing in 2023. Rumours of the games delay were spreading round the internet since February; however, Rocksteady have now taken the liberty to officially announce the delay via twitter with the founder of Rocksteady Studios, Sefton Hill, saying this:

Announced back at the very first DC FanDome in 2020, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was originally set for release in 2022. The game will give players control of four prominent members of the Suicide Squad (Task Force X): Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang & King Shark.

Together, the team have been tasked with travelling to Metropolis and taking down the Justice League since the team is seemingly under the influence of tyrannical alien villain, Brainiac. The team will have to take down Superman, Green Lantern, the Flash & Wonder Woman whilst traversing through the open world of Metropolis and fighting off the alien goons as well. With the concept of the upcoming game sounding like tons of fun, fans will unfortunately have to wait an extra year to get their hands on the game.

Rocksteady Studios are responsible for creating the highly acclaimed Batman Arkham video games that include Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City & Batman: Arkham Knight. With the developers supposedly “killing” Batman within the finale of their Batman Arkham franchise, fans are eagerly awaiting to see if Batman will feature within the upcoming Suicide Squad game.

Set in Metropolis, SSKTJL is an open-world, action-adventure, co-op video game that will pit our titular Suicide Squad against Brainiac & the Justice League. The Justice League members confirmed so far are Superman (Kal-EL/Clark Kent), Wonder Woman (Diana Prince, Green Lantern (John Stewart) & the Flash (Barry Allen). Each Suicide Squad member possesses a unique playstyle with Harley possessing her iconic baseball bat, guns & a grapple gun; Deadshot equipped with high-tech guns and a jet pack; Captain Boomerang equipped with a shotgun & his infamous trick boomerangs (one which grants him super-speed for traversal); and King Shark equipped with a huge machine gun and possessing his super strength to leap and crawl up buildings.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will now release in Spring 2023 for Xbox Series X, Microsoft Windows, and PlayStation 5.
