Venom: Let There Be Carnage Post-Credit Scene Explained

Venom: Let There Be Carnage has been out in the US for around 2 weeks now but for us in the UK and the rest of the world, it has finally been released today. Full of many laughs, menacing villains and Tom Hardy’s brilliance, the Venom sequel was thoroughly enjoyable.

However, the biggest talking point of the movie will of course be the post-credit scene as it is a complete game changer for Venom moving forward. The US fans promised the rest of the world that there would be a huge shake-up within the Marvel movies and boy were they right!

*WARNING... MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD*

Venom has entered the MCU, we repeat, Venom is in the MCU! This is one of the biggest revelations in Marvel movie history and it is absolutely huge.

The scene begins with Eddie and Venom in their hotel room on the island retreat from which they travelled to at the end of the movie after defeating Carnage and Shriek. Venom then begins to talk about how he could link his hive mind to Eddie’s and show him the billions of years of symbiote history from across universes, but he states that his mind would be unable to process all of that information. We then see a sudden reality-bending flash and the surrounding area begins to change very subtlety with everything becoming brighter, the hotel room changing and the TV switching channels to something that Spider-Man fans will be very familiar with.

The TV shows the Daily Bugle report from J. Jonah Jameson outing the identify of Spider-Man that we saw way back in Spider-Man: Far From Home meaning that Venom, Eddie Brock and seemingly the other Venom-verse characters have been transported into the MCU through the multiverse. Venom the licks the screen after saying “That guy…” which hints that we will be seeing Tom Hardy’s Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man interacting at some point in the future. The scene then ends hilariously with someone coming out of the hotel bathroom asking why Eddie is in his room.

What Does This Mean For Venom?

Well, Venom is now in the MCU but the direction of where he will be heading is extremely unknown. Tom Hardy was spotted recently sporting a Spider-Man: No Way Home cap which could hint that he may have something to do with that movie maybe making a short cameo appearance either in the full movie or a post-credit scene. Other than this, we have no clues or hints as to where he will be headed but we are confident that we will be seeing a lot more of Venom in the future.

How Did They Travel to The MCU?

The clearest and most obvious answer is that this seems to be thanks to the conclusion of season one of Loki on Disney+. As we previously saw, the ending of Loki gave us the return of the Marvel multiverse with timelines branching out and crossing paths leading to multiversal mayhem which appears to be the source of this event. It is now common Marvel knowledge that the multiverse will be a huge plot point for many Marvel movies in the future but to have Venom now in the MCU is incredibly exciting and we can’t wait to see where his journey goes from here.
