Marvel Announce NEW 'Midnight Suns' Game

Marvel Games and XCOM game developers Fireaxis are collaborating to bring together some of most prominent supernatural heroes in the Marvel universe – whilst also adding a few who don’t usually fit the magic bill - in a new tactical RPG video game coming to all major console platforms in March 2022.

The game officially titled ‘Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ – yes, that is Suns although the team is based on the comic team Midnight Sons – features a roster of Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes), Blade and Magik whilst also tossing in some more mainstream Marvel heroes like Wolverine, Iron Man, Captain Marvel and Captain America as they unite to take on Lilith and the "monstrous shadows of the Marvel universe".

This turn-based combat game gets its name from the comics in where Doctor Strange assembled a team of 9 supernatural heroes to take down a demonic entity known as Lilith. The Midnight Sons debuted in the 90s and are one of the more unknown teams to the casual Marvel fans but the team has included the likes of Doctor Strange, Moon Knight, Morbius the Living Vampire, Ghost Rider (both Johnny Blaze and Danny Ketch), Iron Fist and Man-Thing in their ranks.

The game’s line-up combines some of supernatural heroes with more mainstream heavy hitters which is a good combination to bring in old and new fans of the Marvel universe and even better news is that the roster will be expanding. The developer’s expressed that their full team roster is yet to be announced, so as we get closer to launch we will be treated to even more character reveals. Throughout the game you play as The Hunter, an original and fully customizable hero that leads the team into battle against the evil sorcerous Lilith. Given Fireaxis’ reputation, the game will be a tactical RPG game but the studio has also heavily emphasised the element of building character relationships with your fellow heroes.

The newly revealed game fits perfectly into where Marvel are seemingly headed with their MCU projects as we have projects such as Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, Moon Knight, Blade and a rumoured Werewolf-By-Night series all releasing in the coming years. The supernatural element of the Marvel universe is about to get a whole lot more popular that’s for sure!

Marvel’s Midnight Suns will launch in March 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC.
