Dark Crisis #1 Variant Covers Reveal DC's New Justice League
After announcing their next huge event dubbed Dark Crisis, DC Comics have provided CBR.com with an exclusive look at all the variant covers for their upcoming issue #1 which releases in June this year and will be penned by Joshua Williamson with art duties going to Daniel Sampere & Alejandro Sanchez.
Dark Crisis is the next Crisis event within the DC Comics universe and is spinning out of the upcoming Death of the Justice League within Justice League #75. The team that will be featured in the highly anticipated Justice League issue will consist of: Clark Kent/Superman, Bruce Wayne/Batman, Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, John Stewart/Green Lantern, J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter, Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Dinah Laurel Lance/Black Canary and Zatanna. All but one member will be meeting their demise at the hands of the Dark Army.
Dark Crisis will see Pariah – a key character from Marv Wolfman, George Perez & Dick Giordano’s major 1985 event Crisis on Infinite Earth – harnessing the power of the Great Darkness. The Great Darkness is a cosmic being that was recently retconned into being responsible for all the DC Comics Crisis events by writer Joshua Williamson in his Justice League Incarnate series. The heroes left over after the death of the Justice League will have to team-up and fend off their latest threat to the DC multiverse but not everyone is willing to join the fight.
