Echo: Daredevil to Have Supporting Role in Upcoming Echo Series

Marvel Studios appears to have plenty of plans for Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in the coming years as he’s not only set to appear in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the She-Hulk Disney+ series but now, according to insider Daniel Ritchman (https://twitter.com/DanielRPK), he also has a supporting role in the forthcoming Echo series on Disney+.

Actress Alaqua Cox will be starring as Echo in the MCU however the character was created back in 1999 by David Mack and Joe Quesada. Echo, real name Maya Lopez, first appeared in Daredevil #9 and has acted mainly as a Daredevil supporting character from then on. She has also gone by another alias, Ronin, which many MCU fans will already be familiar with. Maya Lopez has photographic reflexes, is a master martial artist and is also one of the few deaf characters in Marvel comics.

Given Echo’s history with Daredevil, it’s only right for him to make an appearance in her own solo series. Echo is also confirmed to be appearing in Hawkeye’s Disney+ series, premiering on November 24th, alongside fellow Marvel characters Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner), Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) so fans will get to see her in action as early as this year.

Another big rumour for both the Hawkeye and Echo series is that Vincent D'Onofrio is reprising his role as the Kingpin for both series'. Echo and Daredevil both have an intense history with Kingpin so it will be incredible to not only see Charlie Cox's Daredevil and Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin rivalry once again, but also the added the dynamic with Maya Lopez involved as well.

Daredevil’s Netflix series was extremely popular so fans will be going wild to see Charlie Cox have so many upcoming roles in the MCU and it seems extremely likely that he will also be getting his own solo project at some point in the future.

The Echo series has no official release date as of yet but it’s already lining up to be an action-packed show with tons of great characters and we can't wait!
